Children of men

Krinij, the only son of Arjun and Krupa, is a blend of sheer innocence and purity like any other eight year old; poetically, a pool that reflects the entire no defect sky emphatically defines his guiltless character.
In this world, parents have been enthroned an elite position by god calling them “the creators”. It is thus the responsibility of the two to provide a loving and amicable atmosphere for the child to foster.
Unfortunately, Krinij wakes up everyday amidst altercations that have long formed a routine between his parents. The boy stares despondently at his dad brutally whipping his mother. Never the young mind could conceive the reason behind his father’s wildly actions. He often was beaten up bloodily for things that can be called utterly petty. Cigarette burns seen all over his bland skin, constantly making him a victim of the beast in human form.
One day, he goes to bed with all the pains much beyond the endurance levels of the poor child with his mother sitting by his side applying an ointment, sobbing heavily at the same time. Krinij innocently asks “Why mama, dad is so bad? Why is that he always beats us up?” Mother gives nearly an abortive attempt to prevent her tears from tumbling down, replies to her beloved child staring at his blue eyes running her hands through his hair, “Daddy is not a bad person my dear, he is mentally ill, it will take some time before he is back to normal. Once he is completely cured, he will play with you, buy you chocolates and shall give you everything that you may ask for” saying so, she embraces him taking his head and pressing it against her bosom. The kid then slowly raises his head, just enough to make eye contact with his mother and asks “so mummy, dad is never going to hurt us again after he is well. Is he?” Now, mother unable to understand why she had to find herself in such an awful predicament, weeps even harder hugging her child tightly, kissing him all over and finally, rests her chin over his head with her arms curled around him.
Knirij heard nothing from her mother thereof. It was not long before he realized she was no more and he is left in this material world with a challenge of fighting the battle of life all ALONE.

Saleem Movie Review [Telugu]

I have dedicated one day of my Xmas vacation just for Saleem in searching for the movie link, watching it and writing the review. I would like to thank YVS Chowdary for giving me such an opportunity which I could write my longest review. I wish only next movie of YVS could break this record. Here you go !

The movie starts with a Title Logo "Saleem" with namaz background music.
Immediately, hero makes a mass intro as if he is falling from the sky while Ilena keep counging 1, 2, 3..
MASS Introduction !!

Ilena who returns from foreign country to India utters a dialogue after getting into the car, "Appudapudu life lo thrill unte ne interesting ga untundhi".
Guess what the THRILL is? The immediate car accident? NO !
The unexpected Hero MASS introduction.. Vishnu sitting on a rock with a Rocking pose redefines the word, "BALUPU" literally by trying to imitate his father's dialogue delivery, but fails miserably.

By spreading the dust into the surroudings (dhummu lepi), hero finishes his intro fight and proposes Ilena.

Finally hero manages to enter heroin's house by impressing their parents. Mass hero gets a class impression.

After few hilarious comedies inside their house mixed with a bit of Romance; Vishnu babu takes Ilena to the villain to "prove" his Manliness.
Finally Ileana accepts his Manliness and takes off the "Puli Goru" from the villain and gives it to Vishnu saying, "Magaadivi, ippudu idhi nee meda lo undaali".
Wow !! What a MAN !

But Vishnu is doing all this not only to prove his Manliness, but he also has some other story behind his acts.

YVS Chowdary has used a different concept screenplay in the movie Saleem. On the other side, madhya lo phaaren nunchi kontha mandhi vasthaaru, kaani vallu evaru anedhi manaki cheppakunda suspense maintain chesaadu.

Everything goes according to what Vishnu has planned. Heroin's father decides to give his daughter to to "assffalu fsifsalaina mogaadu" (asalu sisalaina mogaadu).
Then appudu gudi lo oka fight.. By chasing the speed of the bullet in order to save heroin's father, Vishnu again proves that he is a perfect MAN !
In the very next scene, Vishnu bike ni MI:2 style lo thippi, bullets vasthunte tyre addu petti aapesthaadu. May be phaaren peepul veelle emo anna oka chinna sandheham kooda raadhu audience ki.

But unfortunately, Vishnu babu's copied stunts and inspired background music give him nothing. Because Ileana betrays him for by saying "Po Po" after saving her. The love failure expressions can be seen in Vishnu's eyes !

All the struggles which Vishnu has faced to prove his Manliness had gone in vain. The scene before interval is so heart touching. After watching the first half of the movie, its crystal clear that no one else apart from Vishnu babu can do this movie. Vishnu chetha train ekkinchi bullet tho kaalipisthundhi Ilena. Vishnu fell in the water.

INTERVAL !!

The interval bang reminds me of Magadheera's interval (hero falling in water). But guess what happens next? Vishnu babu doesn't need Sri Hari to help him out.
He could swim with and ease and makes his presence in the Hospital inspite of severe injuries. That shows how much dedicated is Munna (Vishnu) towards his goal.

Ileana who is accustomed to the European culture right from her childhood starts hating Indian clultre and emotions at her home.
Hence she elopes with her boy friend and returns back to Europe. Perhaps YVS has expected the audience to assume this shit as the twist.

After knowing this, Munna travels Europe and gives an intro with another mass fight at Europe.
Ileana Boy friend's bro is none other than OZO (Mohan Babu) who is an Underworld Don !

Mohan babu describes Vishnu as, "Andharu revolver maata vinte, revolver veedi maata vintundhi". Vishnu: Gun ni chusthe, laff (love) lo padipothaanu. Ee dialogue vinnaka audience lo Vishnu evaru anna sangathi thelusukovataniki vechi chusthu untaaru.

The scene where Vishnu babu overcomes the Gravity force from a sky scrapper and catches the RING of Ileana which was thrown from the top of the Building.
The graphics in this scene adds beauty to the scene by holding the Pulse of the audience. This has to be experienced while watching the movie.

Mohan Babu (Ozo) starts learning English from an English teacher. But was he really learning English? No. Because he was quite busy in teaching her some other things.
Thanks to Mohan Babu's schools group. He also sings a duet with his teacher.
Mohan Babu eppati nuncho ee age lo kooda dance cheyyalani korika ga undhemo. Andhuke ee movie ni produce chesi koduku future tho bongaram aata aadukunnadu.

After listening to the Love philophies by Saleem, Ileana leaves her boyfriend and proposes Fsaleem. But Saleem now rejects her love. This is the ultimate twist which no one could ever dream to expect.

Mohan babu hero ni inka kasta pettakoodadhu anukuni manchi vaadi laaga maaripothadu after a dhummu lepe climax fight in India.
Finally, teacher confesses her love for Mr. Mohan babu and there ends the movie.

The scene where teacher proposes Mohan Babu can be easily noted as one of the best Romantic scenes on the History of Telugu Cinema.

Kudos to the Director and Producer for such a daring attempt.
Special thanks to Mohan babu for making such a "Never before and Never after" kind of cinema.

Vishnu also has done equal justification to his role "Saleem".

I actually wanted to give a brief review, but I couldn't stop praising the movie which has re defined the stamina of Telugu Films.

No Verdict, No Rating.

YVS - You are the real film maker. Take a BOW ! Continue the same form and let the audience kick you out of the industry very soon.

Vishnu - You are really a Man ! You need not "try" to prove it.
Please do take the dedication from your father, but do not take suggestions from him.

Mohanbabu - Do experiment but do not experiment with your kids.

Ileana - As usual. You have once again proved that you can't improve any more in this industry and cleared doubts to those who are having hopes on you. Anyways, as long as you receive offers like Saleem, you need not improve in your skills which you cannot.

S U B H A M !

Vinnai Thandi Varuvaya Movie Review

I am the one who usually gets completely bored while watching typical Love stories. Even though I had been waiting for this movie especially for Gowtham's chemistry which was impressive in Kaaka kaaka. and for ARR who is known for his romantic BGMs in love stories like Jeans, Duet, Alaipayuthey (Sakhi) and Munbe va BGM from Sillunu oru kadhal (Nuvvu nenu prema).

"Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaaya - A different Love story - Yet again"

The caption looks more apt for the movie (even more than the film's title)

Yes, its another love story (Yet Again) which we have been watching since the time of our primary schooling where hero and heroin share the same street/house, "Love at first sight" ani cheppi continue ayipovatam, intlo parents oppukokapovatam and the same tape continues.

Well is this a Different love story (considering the caption of this movie)? YES, it is. The concept of heroin being elder to Hero was a news to me. And last 45 minutes was extremely taken well !!

As I have mentioned, there is absolutely nothing new in the first half. Vaaranam Aayiram lo "Daddy daddy daddy" puranam aithe indhulo "Jessie Jessie Jessie" puranam, arigipoina cassette madhiri. But the emotions did work out in few scenes. Interestingly, I could guess each and every single scene in the movie except for the climax.

Negatives:

1. I got totally pissed off with Simbhu's mannerisms (infact its the character here) mixed with hell lot of "Immaturity" and Adolescence before Hosona song (the very next scene after he sees Trisha).
It just reminded me of Varanam Aayiram "train scene" where Surya sees Sameera for the first time. Aa thala badhukovatam, banging his head, tapping his chest (heart), holding his fingers, gate ni pattukuni pull ups cheyyatam, edho aapukoleni emotions aapukuntunnatu jeevincheyatam.. and finally blaming the girl saying, "YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE". What the CRAP ? ! ?

2. As I had pointed out, too much of "Jessie Bhaagawatham" and "I LOVE U" Manthra even in the scenes which doesn't require. If you love someone truly, then show it in deeds/caring. But chanting and singing "I love U" would fetch you nothing !!

3. Trisha's acting, she couldn't portray emotions even in the sad scenes. Sarigga Glycerine kooda veskovatam raaledhu. In many scenes, oke kantlonchi kaneeru vasthu untundhi. May be thats possible with "True Love"

4. Too much of show off with English words. "Classy, well read, beautiful" - intha varaku baga ne undhi. Next line lo "And S**y too" - What the hell? Possibly the worst ever compliment a girl could ever receive IMO. Inko aanimuthyam, "You are HOT". Is he playing the role of a Flirt or a Lover?

5. Again unncessary Romance in most of the scenes. Chance dhorikithe velli meedha padipothunnadu. It was limited and good in Varanam Ayiram, but here its irritating.

6. The chemistry which worked out well in Kaaka Kaaka is completely missing here.

7. Mana regional language lo boothulu matladithe "Mass" antaaru, "Indecent" antaaru and "Uncivilized" antaru. Adhe English lo boothulu matladithe? Is that called "CLASSY" and "WELL READ"? :P

---

Anyways, one a special note - ARR's BGM and Songs are very good. I could see few reviews mentioning that "ARR IS BACK". But the fact is our Master has never left us

Few Questions to Gowtham Menon:

1. Why is that you are so pasionate about Hindu - Christian Love chemistry?

2. Whats the actual reason for making 2 different climax for this movie? It has happened with Kaaka Kaaka (+ve and -ve climax) and Gharshana (+ve climax). And now with VTV (-ve and +ve climax) and YMC (with a +ve one).

3. I could see many similarities between your way of thinking with that of Jessie's. She is not sure of her life partner and keeps changing her decisions all the time. And you are not sure of your climax and proved it by showing the audience a climax per day. Any other climaxes in store Sir? :P

4. Why COP/Military/Boxing elements are always fit into the script for the heck of it?

5. You have a dialogue in the movie saying, "True love ante eppuduu mana tho paate undipoyedhi". And the fishy thing is you have given us few dialogues like "You are HOT". I guess the logic is somewhere missing because the so called "HOT" element never stays with us Gowtham sir.

6. No more consistent English dialogues sir. We agree you are one among the very few directors who are educated. Ala ani cheppi prathi movie lo English kummesthe ela?
